Oh my...that's a wonderful feeling! I still haven't gotten pepper or tomato seeds in the pots. We have another freeze period (not too bad...upper 20's) predicted for the coming week and both of those plants like heat. I don't have a heated space (other than the house). I might try them in here for a week or two.

I've got a few containers of radishes, beets, onions, and very, very tiny seedlings of basil, cilantro, dill, marigolds, luffa (first year trying that), spinach, and catnip (first year on that also) in our new cold frame.

I'm late getting potatoes out (mainly because I haven't decided where I want to put them). They could have been in the ground a couple of weeks ago already.

I'm enjoying the tulips, daffodils, surprise lillies, and hyacinth my sisters planted for Mom & Dad before we moved here. They make it look like spring, for sure.

On a different note, have any of you taken up a new hobby in the past year? I've returned recently to journaling (mostly daily) a few weeks ago and am enjoying it.

I love daffodils. I tried to keep it simple for my first run at gardening. I did go the indoor method. so my sprouts/seedlings are in peat pots and i've kept them in the warmest room in the house because I also do not have a heating pad. I planted the seeds, kept the soil moist, but not wet and covered them until they germinated, then as the leaves popped out I moved them to the windowsill that gets a lot of sun. The bell peppers i think wanted more warmth, I ended up placing those under a lamp on it's own, and voila!

It totally could have been dumb luck LOL
I did buy a beginner's guide to gardening that I read through and referenced, but it really is super introductory, like i don't know much about after the transplant so I'll most likely be looking for another book

Gardening would be a new hobby for me, but so far it hasn't been a very active hobby, I am also prepping for chickens which will be new... but my goal is to pick up old hobbies again. I need to finish a crochet quilt I started. I got about 25% done then we sold our house in November and I haven't picked that quilt project back up since .

Radishes are fun because they usually come up in 4-7 days and are ready for harvest in a month. I don't know if that's true for most radishes, but the kind I got, it is.

As for the flowers, my sisters mostly put them in for my Mom, who loved flower beds, and when we moved here after my parents passed away, we inherited the beauty.

I'll definitely give them a try. Well, if this current run of veggies is successful, then I'll be adding another raised garden bed

So this little book I read (I don't know how accurate it is, as a newbie to gardening) makes a point that you can plant a lot more into a 4x4 raised garden bed, than you can in the same space outside a raised garden bed. I don't know if that is true, since following her instructions, I've only got 5 plants to go into a 4x4 box... but maybe it is because of the type of veggies I've chosen?
