    CCIE or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert program is considered as an ideal technical certification for aspiring networking professionals. Experienced faculties introduce the candidates into the format for the lab examinations; both the format and duration of the lab exams are common across the various specialisations. Both written exam and lab exams are mandatory for procuring the technical certification. The duration of the lab exam is 8 hours for all the CCIE specialisations; the various specialisations include CCIE Routing and Switching, CCIE Security, CCIE Data Center, CCIE Service Provider and CCIE Collaboration. The CCIE Collaboration lab exam assess the skills of the candidates to plan, design, implement, operate and troubleshoot enterprise collaboration and communication networks. The important topics in the syllabus include configuring and troubleshooting CISCO Collaboration infrastructure. The CCIE Data Center lab exam assess the skills of the aspiring Data Center engineer, it involves planning, implementing, designing, operating and troubleshooting CISCO Data Center technologies. The topics for the lab exams include Data Center infrastructure, CISCO storage networking and Data Center virtualisation. The format for CCIE routing and switching consists of 2 hours of troubleshooting section, 5 hour and half for configuration section and half hour for diagnostic section. These CCIE lab exams are truly proving to be ideal for assessing the practical skills of candidates.
