So I noticed that peoples User Titles were not updating as they hit certain post numbers like they were supposed to do. So I used my Admin powers to dive into the nuts and bolts of this site and found the problem. So now you all should notice that when you post something under your names will be a member title. If you have posted less than 30 posts you will have the default title of "New Member" which comes with that new car smell as a bonus. After 30 posts you will be a "Junior Member" which smells a bit like a Junior Mint which is nice. The rest of the titles are as follows:
    New Member 0
    Junior Member 30
    Full Member 100
    Senior Member 250
    Master in Training 500
    Master of the Forum 1000
    Time Lord 5000

If you hit one of those milestones and notice that your title is not updating on its own let me know. I may have to click a button in the Admin panel every once in a while to update the titles although I am hoping it will do that automatically from now on.

Hello John, A couple of other Rhymezone members have mentioned that my status hasn't changed despite the post number, so I thought I'd leave a note seeing if there is something you can do to effect change? Thanks in advance for any help. RhymeLovingWriter

I have also given all users the power to delete and move there own topics (up not other peoples topics). You should be able to access those features under the little gear icon and or the edit icon in the upper right of your topic. Use your new powers wisely people!

I would like to delete a post.
      How do I do that?

    How Reputation works:
Your reputation is displayed via those orange bars (or light gray bars is you are starting out).
Everyone starts with 10 rep points.
For every 50 reputation points you get one orange bar, 100 points gets you 2 bars, etc.
When other members like your posts you gain rep points, assuming they have at least 50 posts and a rep of at least 10 (yea you can lose rep points).
The higher those members Reputation-altering power is the more points you earn.

So now you want to know how you earn Reputation-altering power? OK here is how that works:
For every 30 days that you login, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
For every 50 points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
For every 100 posts, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.

So when a member that has been around for a year and has a post count of 500 and a high rep likes your poem (topic or reply) your reputation gets a bigger boost then when a new member with 50 posts likes your poem. And when a new member, with less than 50 posts, likes your poem it does nothing to increase your reputation. Also I think you can only give so many points to another member a day. So you cannot pump them up artificially.

I doubled the time before you are logged out when inactive. It was 15 minutes and now it is 30mins.

        Advanced Search

You can do an Advanced Search by clicking on the little down triangle next the the search window in the upper right of most pages and then picking Advanced Search. Then you by entering a members name and picking the Source (such as Shared Poetry and Lyrics) you can get a full list of all the posts they started in that forum. Very useful for finding all the poems someone has posted for example. Play with the other criteria in the advanced search window like Keywords, Tags and date ranges. This is very helpful tool when you are trying to find that great poem you read a few months ago about an old man and his cup of coffee. Of course it works better if you take the time to use Tags when you post poems (hint, hint).

Hello John! I'm over the 200 post mark, and my User Title still shows me as New Member!

Thanks for the advice on running ADVANCED QUERIES.

I've had much to do with writing queries in varies programming
                  Languages.

But it's hard trying to access all the great functionality
Of this forums applications, whilst I'm using a small & old
                  iPhone 4.

                  My desktop has broken down.
So navigating around the forum & utilising the best of the functionality
You provide, is difficult on my small I phone.

I've done a lot of programming in the years of 2000-2010.
Do you write much syntax in keeping this forum running?

I've not had any experience in this type of environment.
I've noticed that the bottom of each page says?

                  Powered by V bulliten...
So I was wondering if that's a type of Visual Basic
                  Programming environment?

( just out of curiosity )
                  Cheers...

I hope your wife & families going well mate.

Does anyone have any idea if the private message function is broken on here? Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but I've tried to reply to a message I received and nothing shows up in my inbox. I tried sending it as a new message, rather than a reply to the one I received, and still nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

There is. You'll need to know the users name (see the Member List above center). The message center menus are top right, next to your sign-in credentials. Well, that's where they show up in my browser anyway.

Or, you can just click on the name of the other user from any post and it should take you to their profile page and you can initiate a message from there.

Anyone else care to chime in?
